Preserving Democracy is a blog from the Daniel K. Inouye National Center for the Preservation of Democracy (Democracy Center) at the Japanese American National Museum that serves as a collector of important information, articles, research, and thought pieces by some of today’s most important community voices. The blog provides additional information on the speakers, topics, and issues found in the Democracy Center’s programs. It is also a place where members of the community can share their own experiences of being American and what Democracy means to them. 

The Democracy Center explores the rights, freedoms, and fragility of democracy, helping to build bridges, and find common ground between people of diverse backgrounds and opinions. A place for education and civic engagement, the Democracy Center convenes people of all ages and diverse backgrounds to examine issues about race, identity, and social justice to transform attitudes, celebrate culture, and promote civic engagement.
